2025 Polar Plunge

LETR NSW is part of a worldwide foundation of Law Enforcement employees,  it is the largest grassroots awareness and fundraising vehicle for Special Olympics.

We help to provide opportunities for inclusion and improved quality of life for children and adults with intellectual disabilities through support for Special Olympics programs and championing fundraising initiatives.

With more than 1.9 million athletes in 35 countries, Special Olympics programs in the Asia Pacific region are expanding rapidly. Across the region, our goal is to promote respect, inclusion and human dignity for people with intellectual disabilities through sport.

One of the major fundraising and awareness campaigns is the Police Plunge. LETR NSW and Special Olympics NSW will be working with local branches, Special Olympics Sydney’s Northern Beaches and Sydney Upper North Shore to host a Plunge at Dee Why Rock Pool on Sunday 3rd August,  2025 from 9am.

Northern Beaches PAC will be involved in the Plunge with fundraising and entering a team which will include members of our Senior Leadership Team. We are also reaching out other services and hope to have Fire Rescue NSW, NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance, Marine Rescue NSW and Surf Life Saving NSW involved. On top of this the plan is to have some local politicians, dignitaries and Olympians involved but most importantly supporting local athlets from Special Olympics.
