Andrew May – North Palm Beach SLSC
Andrew began his Lifesaving journey at Blackhead SLSC when he joined in 1973, and quickly gained his Bronze Medallion in the same year. Andrew has been a part of Queenscliff SLSC, Manly LSC and North Palm Beach SLSC having gained numerous awards at each Club.
Andrew joined the SNB Board of Examiners in 1980 giving special service at Warringah Surf Rescue unit and radio operations. Andrew was also an integral part of the Branch Education Team which went to the Philippines in 1981. At a State level Andrew was a Field Officer 1984 and became General Manager 2005 for Surf Life Saving New South Wales.
Andrew has contributed so much to Surf Life Saving in general during his 50 years of service (2022), and has been awarded the 10, 15-year Patrol Service Pins, a 25 Year Service Pin and 27 association awards. Andrew was awarded SNB Lifesaver of the Year in 1983 and has been awarded the British Airways Distinguished Service Award for Manly Warringah Branch on two occasions and was awarded the Harry Ragan Outstanding Service award for his work with the SNB Board of Examiners.
Andrew was awarded Sydney Northern Beaches Distinguished Service in 1999 and Sydney Northern Beaches Life Membership in 2006.
Andrew was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2006.
