Anthony (Tony) Burns – North Palm Beach SLSC
Tony joined North Palm Beach 1963 after the successful completion and awarding of his Bronze Medallion that same year in 1963. Throughout his service to Surf Life Saving and his club, Tony has held a number of key and important club positions including being named Club Secretary for 1987 to 1988 and as Club Delegate sitting on the clubs Board of Management Committee a role that he has held since 1977.
Tony service was not limited to his club, taking his skills and experience to the branch level, Tony quickly became an invaluable part of the branch holding positions such as director of administration in 2002, Director of Finance and Administration from 2003 to 2007 and has spent 21 years of service as a member to the Board of Examiners. Tony’s service to as the Branch Finance and Administration Director has guided Branch through many difficult situations and helped shape the organisation that we are today.
Over his 44 years of service to SLSA, Tony has been awarded the 10, 15 and 25 years National Patrol Service Award, elected to Club Life Membership in 2003 and was elected to the branch Distinguished Service Award in 2002-2003 and the SNB Life Membership in 2007.
Tony was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2007.
Tony passed away in 2011.
