Bill Sheridan – Collaroy SLSC
Bill joined Freshwater SLSC back in 1958, this was his first introduction to SLS. in the following years he remained at freshwater before deciding to transfer to Collaroy SLSC where he was then appointed official Club Photographer of Collaroy Surf Life Saving Club in the 1986/87 season. He was then appointed Official Branch Photographer, by the then Chief Executive Officer – Jennifer Drury. He has carried out this work for 40 years plus, without any costs to the Branch and still continues to do so. Bill is still recognised around Australia as the “old guy who takes photos on the beach”. This will forever be a kind gestured comment that will stick will Bill till the future.
Additionally, he has undertaken numerous duties over many years for SLS SNB, NSW and SLSA. He has contributed a significant time towards all sections and with that has been awarded Distinguished Service of the SNB Branch and Collaroy SLSC, the SNB Branch President’s Award and this latest honour of Branch Life Membership.
Bill was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2019.
