Bill Sheridan – Collaroy SLSC
Bill’s journey in Surf Life Saving began in 1958 when he joined Freshwater SLSC. After several years at Freshwater, he transferred to Collaroy SLSC where he was appointed as the official Club Photographer for the 1986/87 season. In recognition of his talent and dedication, he was subsequently appointed as the Official Branch Photographer by the then Chief Executive Officer Jennifer Drury. Bill has diligently carried out this role for over 40 years, generously volunteering his time and expertise without any cost to the Branch, and continues to do so to this day. His unwavering commitment has earned him recognition across Australia as the “old guy who takes photos on the beach” a fond and endearing title that will forever be associated with him.
In addition to his photographic contributions, Bill has undertaken numerous duties for SLSSNB, SLS NSW AND SLSA over the years.
His extensive involvement has garnered well deserved accolades, including Distinguished Service of the SNB Branch and Collaroy SLSC, the SNB Branch Presidents Award, and the esteemed SNB Branch Life Membership.
Bill was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2019.
