Colin White

Colin C White – Queenscliff SLSC

Col became a member of Queenscliff SLSC in 1965 and achieved Life Membership of the Club in 1989.  His exceptional service and bravery were also recognised with the Royal Humane Society, when he received a Silver Medal for Bravery in 1958.  Since 1972, Col has been a dedicated member of the Board of Examiners, holding numerous positions on the Branch Board.

These positions include Deputy Superintendent in 1978, 1979,1989 1990 and 1991.  Branch Coach in 1976,1979, 1988, and 1991 seasons; and Branch Selector in 1980, 1982, 1985, 1986, 1987, and 1991 seasons.

Col’s commitment extended beyond the local level, as he was a member of the New Zealand Touring Team in 1988, the NSW Team to Queensland in 1978, and the NSW Team to Europe in 1980.

Col has obtained several SLSA Awards and qualifications, including the Qualifying Certificate, Bronze Medallion, Instructor’s Certificate, Examiner’s Certificate, Advanced Resuscitation Certificate, ARC Examiner’s Certificate, and the Radio Operator’s Certificate.

Col’s steadfast dedication to the Queenscliff SLSC, coupled with his outstanding acts of bravery, have made him an exemplary figure in the surf lifesaving community and a role model for those who aspire to make a lasting impact through selfless service.


Colin was awarded SNB Life Membership in 1992.
