George McRobert

George McRobert – Whale Beach Surf Life Saving Club

George is a one of the foundation members of his club whale beach having founded the club in 1937 and despite a brief leave of absence due to his active war service in 1939to 1945, he has been a long standing and active member of his club serving as club captain from 1946 to 1952, assistant secretary from 1946 to 1955 and as president of wale beach for 16 consecutive years between 1959 – 1976.

Having served as a branch delegate for both Sydney branch and Manly Warringah branch, with manly being founded in 1960, George was one of the first delegates for the branch.

George throughout his extensive contribution to surf life saving both as a long standing member of whale beach and his dedication to surf life saving in general was a appointed a life member of whale beach in 1953/54, appointed club patron in 1986 a appointment that he still holds to this day. George has also been awarded his 25 year national patrol service award in 1969, his 50 and 70 year long service award in 1986 and 2006 respectively and was inducted in the SNB life members in 2009.


George was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2009.
