Jim Routh – South Curl Curl SLSC
Jim Routh was an active and highly respected member of the Surf Life Saving community. He held numerous crucial positions, beginning as the Secretary for the South Curl Curl Juvenile SLSC from 1965 to 1967. In 1965, Jim was elected as the Secretary of Manly Warringah Juvenile SLSA at its foundation meeting, a position he held until his passing on June 30, 1975.
Jim served as a delegate to Manly Warringah Branch of Surf Life Saving Australia from 1966 to 1973. He also played a key role in organising the State Titles at Collaroy in 1966-67.
His commitment to the community was further demonstrated through his roles as Registrar of NSW Juvenile SLSA from 1966 to 1967, President of South Curl Curl Juvenile SLSC from 1967 to 1968, Secretary of NSW Juvenile SLSA from 1967 to 1970, and Assistant Secretary of NSW Juvenile SLSA from 1972 to 1974.
In recognition of his exceptional service, Jim was honoured with Life Memberships of Manly Warringah Juvenile SLSC in 1973/74 and South Curl Curl Juvenile SLSC in 1973/74.
Jim was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2012.
Jim passed away on June 30, 1975.
