Paul Day

Paul Day – North Steyne SLSC

Paul Day joined North Steyne SLSC as a Cadet in 1957 and gained his Bronze Medallion in 1959, he competed in R&R Competition at Club Carnivals.

At Club level, Paul held many positions including Club Race Secretary for 4 years from 1961, Club Secretary for 2 years from 1966, Club Treasurer for 7 years from 1964 and Club President for 7 years from 1970. He gained Life Membership of North Steyne in 1975. Paul is the current Club Trustee and has held this role since 1978, on the Life Membership and Honours Panel since 2002 and a member of the Future Fund Committee since 2001.

At Branch level, Paul has served a number of roles in the 1970s and 1980s, he was Deputy President for 5 years from 1985, Branch President in 1978/1979 and then again in 1984/1985 and was Chairman of the Chairman Branch Liaison Committee from 1978 to 1985. Paul was granted Life Membership of SLSSNB in 1985.

Paul’s contribution at a State level began in 1977 as a member of the Financial Committee, while in 1979 he started a five-year tenure as Secretary at State Centre. Paul also held the positions of State Chairman, Deputy President and Project and Survey Panel Chairman, whilst he also was a member of the Life Member Committee, Meritorious Awards Committee, Judiciary Committee and Lifesaver of the Year Committee. Paul was honoured with SLSNSW Life Membership in 2005

 


Paul was awarded SNB Life Membership in 1985.
