Richard Stewart OAM – Whale Beach Surf Life Saving Club
Richard joined Whale Beach Surf Life Saving Club in 1956, and gained his Bronze Medallion the following year in 1958.
Richard went on to be Club President of Whale Beach for 12 years and a member of the SNB Board of Management for 12 years. He was also Club Captain for 4 years, Club Treasurer for 7 years, Club Secretary for 3 years and Club Gear Steward for 12 years.
Richard was awarded Life Membership of Whale Beach in 1977 and has been awarded his 50 Year National Patrol Service Award. Richard has also co-organised the annual Palm Beach to Whale Beach swim.
In 2009 Richard was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for his long time dedication and contribution towards Surf Life Saving and in 2010, Richard was awarded Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches Life Membership.
Richard was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2010.
