Cadets wear the Red and Yellow
When a nipper turns 13 years old and have attained their Surf Rescue Certificate, they graduate Nippers and are eligible to patrol their beach. SLSSNB has developed a “Rookie” program which clubs can use to pathway their SRC candidates through cadets. Many of the clubs host great activities for teenagers such as sleepovers, outdoor challenges and trips away to encourage them to stay within the movement.
Active 15 – 17 years
The opportunities and awards that exist for this age group is exciting in surf lifesaving as the movement throws up lots of challenges from doing the Bronze Medallion to becoming the crew person on an IRB, ART and some Silver Medallion courses.
Lifesaving Development Camp 16 – 21 years
In the 2022 Lifesaving Development Camp Flyer you will find information on the program, cost, application process and key dates. SLSNSW are inviting members to apply for both candidate and leadership positions.
In this live-in program, they will be focusing on developing and enhancing the knowledge and skills of young members, while at the same time preparing them to take on more responsibility in their patrol teams, their own clubs, and the wider community.
Members will gain additional awards including First Aid, ARTC, IRB Crew/Drivers, and expand their current knowledge of awards already held. Check out the video from last year’s program.
Please share this flyer with members who you believe would benefit from taking part as a candidate or leader on this program.
