SLSNSW Seeking EOIs for AIIMS Awareness Course

SLSNSW Seeking EOIs for AIIMS Awareness Course

Surf Life Saving NSW Emergency Management Team is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from State Operations Group members to undertake the AIIMS Awareness course, delivered externally via the Australasian Fire and Emergency Service Authorities Council (AFAC).

What is AIIMS?
The Australasian Inter-service Incident Management System (AIIMS) is the nationally recognised framework used by emergency services agencies across Australia for incident management. It provides a consistent approach to command, control, coordination, and communication, enabling agencies to work effectively together during multi-agency operations. AIIMS underpins how incidents are managed at all levels, from localised events through to large-scale emergencies.

About the Course
The AIIMS Awareness course introduces the key principles and structure of AIIMS, including roles, functions, and processes within incident management. This is a self-paced course delivered online by AFAC with SLSNSW covering the cost of the course fee. Places are limited and will be allocated through this EOI process.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for selection, members must have completed the following three prerequisite courses in full:

  • Foundations in Emergency Management
  • Emergency Operations Centre Concepts
  • Foundations in Lessons Management

These courses are available via the NSW Government Emergency Management Capability Hub:

Submission Requirements
