South Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club

How was Club Formed: The Club was formed after discussion with members of the McLean Family and others in late 1922,possibly after Council had asked them to look after some life-saving gear stored by Council in Devitt Street.

Formation Date: On 21 January 1923 Norman Cox wrote to Council with a proposal for a surf club near

Devitt Street sheds. Council agreed to support the establishment of the club at a meeting on 15 February 1923.

First Clubhouse Built: Opened 15th December 1923

Subsequent Clubhouses: 2nd Clubhouse 1933, 3rd Clubhouse 1976

Junior Activities/Nippers Formation Date: Nippers formed 1974, Folded 1975. Nippers reformed 1989.
