How was Club Formed: Dee Why Beach was privately owned until 1911, firstly by the Jenkins family and then by the Salvation Army who fenced it off from public access. The NSW Government persuaded them to relinquish control of the sand. The beachthen began to attract swimming crowds.

First Clubhouse Built: On 7 November 1913, the first clubhouse was opened. It was built with funds donated by the NSW Government.
