We all know them – members who care, give up their time and want to make a difference in the organisation. The SNB Awards of Excellence celebrate the incredible people in our organisation and the impact they have on their clubs, its members and their local communities. 
Nominations are due by 29th May 2020

Awards of Excellence Criteria


Surf Lifesaver of the Year  
An active patrolling member who has made an outstanding contribution to the delivery and development of surf lifesaving frontline services.  Nominate here
Youth Surf Lifesaver of the Year  
An active patrolling member under the age of 21 who has made an outstanding contribution to the delivery and development of surf lifesaving frontline services. Nominate here
Volunteer of the Year 
An impressive member who has made a difference through their volunteering efforts. Nominate here
Coach of the Year
An accredited coach who has made a significant contribution to athlete performance at a branch, state, national and/or international level, to the development of athletes in SLS activities outside of surf sports, and to the educational development of other coaches in SLS. Nominate here
Official of the Year  
An accredited surf sports official who has made a significant contribution to both officiating at a branch, state, national and/or international level, and to the educational development of other officials in SLS.  Nominate here
Athlete of the Year  
An athlete aged 15 or older who has achieved sporting excellence in Open Aged Competition. Nominate here
Youth Athlete of the Year  
An athlete aged between 15-18 who has achieved sporting excellence in Youth and/or Open Aged Competition.  Nominate here
Trainer of the Year  
An endorsed Trainer who is passionate about building the skills of others, consistently delivers a positive learning experience, and who encourages other members to engage in the delivery of training.  Nominate here
Assessor of the Year  
An endorsed Assessor who is passionate about building the skills of others, consistently delivers a positive and supportive assessment experience, and who encourages other members to engage in training or assessment.  Nominate here
Community Education Program of the Year  
A SLS-delivered activity or program which has significantly contributed to the organisation’s mission of saving lives, creating great Australians and building better communities.  Nominate here
Innovation Award
A well-researched concept, piece of equipment, program or event which is/has been implemented to improve any facet of Surf Life Saving.
Youth Volunteer of the Year 
An impressive member who has made a difference through their volunteering efforts.
Patrol Captain of the Year  
A Patrol Captain who is passionate about improving the service their patrol offers to the community, or the experience it offers to members.  Nominate here
Patrol of the Year
An exemplary Patrol that is a shining example of what a patrol should do (the service it provides), and how it should do it (the behaviour and attitude of its members). Nominate here
Administrator of the Year  
An Administrator who consistently goes the extra mile to make the lives of other members easier, or to make the services and programs delivered by the club run smoother. Nominate here
Services Team of the Year  
An outstanding team who have made a positive impact in Surf Life Saving or the community through their volunteer services. Nominate here
Masters Athlete of the Year  
An athlete over the age of 30 who has achieved sporting excellence. Nominate here
Surf Sports Team of the Year  
An exemplary Surf Sports Team that has achieved notable success. Nominate here
Facilitator of the Year
A Facilitator who encourages members to engage in training or assessing, is passionate about building the skills of others, and consistently delivers a positive learning experience.  Nominate here

Life Membership of Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches
Members of Sydney Northern Beaches may be considered for election and elected to Life Membership of the Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches (SNB) by the Life Membership and Honours Committee (Committee).
To be considered for Life Membership, members must have rendered sustained and conspicuous voluntary service to SNB.

Distinguished Service Award
To be given to members of clubs and SNB Branch who have distinguished Voluntary Service Criteria shall be distinguished voluntary service to clubs and SNB Branch over a period of fifteen (15) years together with suitable record attached to the nomination. This award is only applicable to members of Surf Life Saving Club or SNB Branch.

Outstanding Service Award
To be given to members of clubs and SNB Branch. Either one or both who have rendered outstanding service. Criteria shall be outstanding service to clubs and SNB branch over a period of ten (10) years together with a suitable record attached to the nomination.

Prominent Service Award
To be given to members of clubs and SNB Branch. Either one or both who have rendered prominent service to Club and SNB Branch over a period of Five years together with a suitable record attached for the nomination.

Community Award
To be given to those citizens who support clubs/SNB with special voluntary service over a period of ten (10) years. Criteria shall be a community award to persons or groups who have supported clubs and Branch with special voluntary service contribution over a ten year period. A suitable record of such service /contribution should be provided with the nomination.
