Robert (Bob) Langbein OAM – Collaroy SLSC
Bob joined Collaroy SLSC in 1948 and achieved his Bronze Medallion in 1949. His involvement in Surf Life Saving spans a period of over 70 years.
Bob was awarded Distinguished Service of Collaroy in 1997 and Life Membership of Collaroy in 2004.
He was awarded the Surf Life Saving Australia 50 years Medallion 2004, Branch Distinguished Service in 2000 and was also awarded the Commonwealth Recognition for Seniors Community Award. Bob was awarded Branch Life Membership in 2005.
Bob was an incredible Beach Competitor winning New South Wales and Australian Championships. Overall he was an athlete of some note winning the Jacaranda Gift and Gunnedah Gift in 1952.
Bob has been instrumental in organising SNB Branch Golf Days at Bayview for last the 30 years which resulted in considerable funds being raised for the Branch Interbranch teams allowing them to compete in competition each year.
Bob was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2005.
