Warren Young OAM – Avalon Beach SLSC
Warren joined Avalon Beach SLSC in 1982 where he gained his Bronze Medallion in 1982. He first came to Avalon Beach in association with the Nipper movement and gained his bronze at the age of 34, becoming an outstanding member for Avalon Beach.
Warren was Club President for 11 years from 1990 to 2001 and also held the Club positions of Deputy President, Junior Club President, Patrol Captain, Treasurer and Publicity Officer. On two occasions Warren awarded Clubman of the Year in 1993 and 1996. He was awarded the Australian Sports Medal in 2000, awarded Centenary Medal in 2003 for services to Surf Life Saving, awarded Club Life Membership in 1999 and 25 year Long Service Award in 2007. He was also awarded the Pittwater Council Medal for Outstanding Community Service in 1998.
In 2010, Warren was awarded Life Membership of Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches
Warren was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2010.
