Marianne Troop – Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club

Maz (as she is affectionately known) joined Dee Why Surf Life Saving Club in 1990 and gained her Bronze Medallion in 2002.

Maz was heavily involved in training members and the community in First Aid and joined SLSSNB Board of Examiners in 1991. She became the Branch Director of Examination & Education in 2001 for 2 years.

Receiving many accolades throughout her Lifesaving career Maz was awarded the prestigious SNB Harry Ragan Award for Outstanding Service, a Prominent Service Award for Dee Why SLSC in 2001, the SLSNSW Examiner of the Year award in 2002, her 10, 15 and 20 Year Officiating and Assessment Certificate, her Level 2 Surf Official Certificate in 2007 and was awarded Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches Distinguished Service award in 2007 which was topped off with a Life Membership of Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches in 2011.


Marianne was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2011.
