William (Bill) James Worth OAM – North Narrabeen SLSC
Bill Worth gained his Bronze Medallion in season 1953-54 at North Narrabeen SLSC and held numerous senior positions in both Club and at Branch level for a period of approximately 35 years.
Bill was involved with North Narrabeen nippers as President along with the old Manly Warringah Branch Junior SLSA as Superintendent, and with NSW Junior SLSA as Superintendent and tour Team Manager for many years. For his dedication, he has been elected a life member for both Manly-Warringah Junior SLSA and NSW Junior SLSA.
Bill’s involvement with North Narrabeen club saw him hold many positions, including delegate to Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches, Chief Instructor, President, Deputy President, carnival organise, building supervisor and many more. Again, his dedication has resulted in being elected as life member of his club.
Bill is also an active member of our Board of Examiners, and his involvement has seen him participate in lifesaving and carnival positions. Being an examiner in the past of Bronze exams, patrols inspections and supervision are just some of the jobs he has done.
At carnivals, Branch, State and Australian, he has established himself as a well-respected official, particularly in the craft area, where he has held all positions from Marshall to Referee and brought his experience and extensive knowledge back to assist us at Branch level from his State and Australian experience.
Bill was awarded SNB Life Membership in 1995.
Bill passed away on October 26th, 2016. He was aged 78.
