Robert (Bob) Asser – Freshwater SLSC
Bob’s journey with Surf Life Saving began in 1964 when he joined Long Reef SLSC, where he remained until 1985. He then moved to North Narrabeen SLSC, serving from 1985 to 2004, before transferring to Freshwater SLSC in 2004.
With over 50 years of involvement in Surf Life Saving, Bob has been an active member of multiple clubs and held various committee positions.
Bob’s contributions to the surf life saving community are diverse, with a strong focus on coaching. He has successfully guided teams to victory, winning Branch and State medals in both R & R and March Past. In 2005, his leadership led the Freshwater Under 21 team to secure the Australian title with a gold medal. Furthermore, the under 23 team, under Bob’s guidance, achieved silver medals in 2006 and 2007.
Alongside his coaching pursuits, Bob has been an active Surf Sports Official since 1987, undertaking numerous official roles within the community.
Bob was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2015.
