Brian Kinsey – Warriewood SLSC
Brian became a part of Warriewood SLSC in 1984, earning his Bronze Medallion in 1985. His unwavering commitment to the club is evident through the numerous positions he held since 1984, culminating in the esteemed Senior Person Club Honour in 1986.
Brian’s leadership capabilities were further recognised when he was appointed Club President in 1987, a role he maintained until 1991. Brian’s influence extended beyond the club level to the Branch, where he assumed various key roles. Joining the Board of Examiners in 1990, he went on to serve as Deputy Superintendent of the Branch from 1992 to 1994. His dedication to safety and efficiency in life saving efforts led him to become the Branch Director of Rescue Services in 1994, a role he held until 2001. During his tenure, Brian’s exceptional contribution were acknowledged with the Radio Operators Award, as well as the Branch Distinguished Service award in 1999. That same year, he received the distinguished Branch President’s Inaugural Award.
Alongside his life saving endeavours, Brian also maintained a high profile career as an International and Australian Rugby Union Referee. His involvement in the world of rugby continues to this day, showcasing his versatility and dedication to excellence.
Brian’s years of service and commitment were honoured with Life Membership at Warriewood SLSC. As of 2022, he has been a dedicated member of the club for 38 years. His passion and remarkable achievements within Surf Life Saving were further recognised with Branch Life Membership in 2006.
Brian was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2006.
