Glenn Langley – Collaroy Surf Life Saving Club
Glenn joined Surf Life Saving in 1987 at Bilgola Surf Life Saving Club where he gained his Bronze Medallion the following year.
Glenn moved to the South Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club in 2001 and then joined Newport Surf Life Saving Club in 2004.
In 1991 Glenn joined Sydney Northern Beaches Board of Examiners, and in 1998 he was elected to the Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches Executive Team as Director of Education & Examination where he held this position for 4 years. In 2004 Glenn was elected as the Director of Youth & Membership Development and in 2005 he became Director of Rescue Services and held that role for 2 years. Glenn returned to the Role of Director of Youth & Membership in 2010 and held that position for another 4 years. In 2013 Glenn joined the Surf Life Saving New South Wales Board of Directors as Director of Youth & Membership and held that position for 4 years.
Glenn received many accolades for his service including receiving the Harry Ragan Outstanding Service award in 1998, Outstanding Service for Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches in 2002, Distinguished Service for Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches in 2006 and Life Membership for Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches in 2009.
Glenn was named Surf Life Saving New South Wales Examiner of the Year on 2 occasions – in 1999 and in 2001, and was honoured with Life Membership of Surf Life Saving New South Wales in 2019.
Glenn has rendered special service in Education & Assessment areas not only to Surf Life Saving Sydney Northern Beaches but in Surf Life Saving New South Wales and other Branches.
Glenn was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2009.
