Gordon Hedger – South Curl Curl Surf Life Saving Club
Gorgon’s journey with his local surf club South Curl Curl began with his role acting as Club Secretary in 1976. He demonstrated unwavering dedication to the Junior Activities sector, and first served as Deputy President for six years starting in 1980-81. Demonstrating his commitment to fostering young talent within the surf lifesaving community, Gordon’s leadership abilities were further evident when he became the Junior Activities President from 1984 to 1985. During his tenure, he passionately promoted the development and growth of junior lifesavers. His outstanding service and dedication to the club did not go unnoticed, as he was honoured with a well deserved Club Life Membership.
Gordon’s impact extended beyond the local club, as he made significant contributions to surf lifesaving at the Branch level. In recognition of his commitment and influence, he was awarded Life Membership of Sydney Northern Beaches in 2008. This prestigious honour highlights Gordon’s enduring influence and his invaluable role in shaping the future of the Surf Life Saving community.
Gordon was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2008.
