Janine Fahey – Collaroy Surf Life Saving Club

Janine Fahey’s journey within the Surf Life Saving community began when she joined Coogee SLSC in 1974.  In 1987 Janine moved to the Northern Beaches and transferred to the South Narrabeen SLSC, staying until 1993, before finding her long term home at Collaroy SLSC in 1994.

Throughout her time at Collaroy, Janine held various significant roles, including JAC Registrar, Competition Director, and Delegate Registrar from 1994 to 2000.  Her commitment continued as she took on the responsibilities of Competition Director, Club Secretary, and Team Manager from 2000 to 2013.  Janine’s dedication to the club further extended to her involvement in the Life Member Committee and History Committee from 2008 to 2010, ultimately earning her the Distinguished Service Award for Collaroy Club in 2002/03.  Janine’s expertise expanded beyond club roles as she became an integral part of the Inter-branch Touring Team in 2001, an accredited March Past Official, and a Level 2 Surf Sports Official.

Her 11 year involvement with the Collaroy March Past team led to several victories, with the team winning medals at Branch, State, Aussie’s, and World’s competitions.  In recognition of her remarkable dedication and contributions, Janine received numerous accolades, including the 10, 15, 20 and 25 Year Officiating Service Awards, as well as the 25 year and 30 year Long Service Awards.  Additionally, she was honoured with the Cedric Walton SNB Competition Recorder Award in 2011, and the Branch Administrator of the Year Award in 2022.
