Peter Gard – Manly LSC
Peter Gard joined the North Steyne SLSC in 1964 and remained a member there until 1983. Peter gained his Bronze Medallion in 1965, and joined the Queenscliff SLSC in 1984 where he was a member until 1994.
Peter later joined Manly LSC in 1994, and is still currently a member. Peter has been a dedicated active member of Surf Life Saving for 47 years. A foundation member of the Helicopter Rescue Service for 15 years – he was basically on call 24 hours for 365 days of the year.
He held the position of NSW State Helicopter Rescue Service Advisor for 5 years, and was also a foundation member of the Shelley Beach Jet Rescue for some 15 years where he held many significant positions, and devoted many hours to fundraising and patrol work.
During seasons 1994 – 96 Peter was the Branch Coaching and Competition Director. Peter was the Manly Life Saving Club Annual Carnival and Competition Director for a number of years. He became a Distinguished Service member of Manly Life Saving Club in 2004.
Peter was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2011.
