Peter Rowlands – Freshwater SLSC
Peter joined North Bondi SLSC back in 1949 where he gained his Bronze Medallion later in 1950. From his time at North Bondi, Peter was on the Management Committee for 5 years and was also awarded the 25 Year Long Service Award. Peter retained his membership to North Bondi up until 2011.
Throughout his time at North Bondi, Peter decided to become a part of Freshwater SLSC in 1979. Whilst at Freshwater Peter was the organiser of the Freshwater Australia Day Carnival for 14 seasons. Peter then joined the SLSNSW March Past panel in 1990 and remained on the panel for over 22 years. He had a total of 30 years involvement in March Past as competitor and is also a holder of 7 Gold medals for Australian Championships.
Over the years Peter has achieved a significant number of awards including the SNB Distinguished Service Award, the 50 Year National Patrol Service Award and 50, 60 & 70 Year Long Service Award with Freshwater. Peter is also a Life Member of Freshwater SLSC, SLS Sydney Northern Beach Branch and SLS New South Wales.
Peter was awarded SNB Life Membership in 2012.
